Once you are done with the WordPress installation, you should now start to carry out some basic setting for your WordPress. Follow the steps below to get started.
Under “Setting ” bar on your left hand panel:
1. General
- Site Title – Generate a descriptive title for your website
- WordPress address (URL) – Use this format -> http://www.yourwebsite.com
- Site address (URL) – Use this format -> http://www.yourwebsite.com
- E-mail address – Enter a contactable email address, you will receive notification when somebody drop a comment
- Leave other setting as it is and click “Save Changes” button.
2. Writing
- Size of the post box – I prefer 50 as to see the entire post at one glance.
- Leave other setting as it is and click “Save Changes” button.
3. Reading
- Front page displays – You can choose which page to display or you can choose to display the latest posts.
- Leave other setting as it is and click “Save Changes” button.
4. Privacy
- Make sure to tick the option “

- Tick “Custom structure” and use this format -> /%postname%/
- Leave other setting as it is and click “Save Changes” button.
